In reply to Doug. Good luck with your journey, Doug. And ignore any snickering. Just keep writing and learning and reading. I consulted how-to books and got feedback from other writers and just kept going and going. As Audrey Hepburn once said, Impossible actually spells I'm possible :)

I’m taking a break from this galaxy and moving to galaxy-b, but I don’t know anyone there, and they’ll probably tell me that I don’t write well there either, but I suppose I have a built -in excuse because their languages are difficult. The last time I tried this, it was a place that had the equivalent of twitter, and even there they told me that I shouldn’t be promo-ing an Earth book unless it was about gardening. I became mindful of snickering so I came back. I guess I should have paid more attention in physics class, or English class. Maybe I shouldn’t expect to do the impossible. No, I think I have to do “the impossible” because to me everything is impossible except for pessimism.
