Thank you. It’s frightening, isn’t it Trish? You as much as anyone else know just how life can suddenly hit a downward spiral. And you have been so strong to pull yourself out of that hole. You’ve had help – helping hands are so important – but ultimately you have had to put in the hard work. It’s just so sad that often it’s the most vulnerable who end up on the streets. Hugs. Sam xx

What a moving piece, Sam. Thank you for sharing.

I could very easily have been made homeless when I walked away from my ex. I had no family able to help and only had one friend who could take me in. Thankfully, she did. If she hadn’t let me into her home, fed me and encouraged me to start living my life, I would have been on the streets or in a hostel of some sort.

These posts you are sharing have made me think about how close I came to living like that and I promise I will try and help. There are a lot of rough sleepers in Blackburn and I will provide them with whatever I can.

Yes, we never know what life has got in store for us, just around the corner, and how we will deal with it.

Wow, Sam, this is a brave post.
My husband was an alcoholic, and he died young. It’s a terrible addiction, destroying relationships, and I truly admire your strength of character in your battle with it.
That list of what to give rough sleepers is so helpful, along with the reminder that we can all be so close to losing everything we hold dear. Thank you, and good luck with the new book!
