I think it helps to know that many of us probably feel the same.Social media, on the whole, shows mostly the best bits, but I think every author has their self-doubts and bad days and I suspect that doesn't change however high you climb. Sam, this is such an amazing post; it really touched me. I haven’t been on the journey you have but I have my own share of insecurities (especially about my writing!) and bad days, and feeling like I always have to be ‘on.’

I’ve always enjoyed meeting you at RNA events and look forward to seeing you at the next one. In the meantime, thank you for your bravery and honesty.

Brave, inspiring and brilliant words as usual Sam. Be Yourself. Such simple words and advice but sometimes the hardest thing to do. Yet as you say if you’re not yourself you’re living a lie which takes such a toll in the end. And having loving, supportive people around and cutting out the negative ones if it’s possible, so important.
Such wise words, well worth reading often, especially in this roller coaster, writer world where it is so very easy to become discouraged. And again it’s making the decision that’s right for you at the right time. To carry on or give up.
I for one am so delighted you’re Still Standing lovely lady, and producing your fabulous books whatever genre which give such pleasure to all your many fans.
Sorry this is nearly a Blog in itself. I’ll shut up now! But just to say thank you for everything Sam xx
