Great post Sam and very heartening. I’m going through edits for the first time with my first novel. In fairness the editor has said these are suggestions but I tend to think she must know much better than me (or is it I 😀 )

Useful wise words, Sam, and not just for writers. I have two teens and constantly remind them of this. Be who they want to be – enjoying whatever they choose to do. Now I need to apply it to my writing life too! : )

Excellent post Samantha. I write as I feel and worry that, because I write for children, they will see grammar errors that I don’t even know exist. They are closer to learning than me. So far though, no one has called me on it so maybe my story absorbs them enough that it doesn’t matter. My view is that I am writing an enjoyable story not sitting an exam.
